About David

David Sunderland has over 30 years experience providing consultations, training and educational support to business owners and entrepreneurs.

After receiving his M.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from New Mexico State University he has worked extensively with family owned and closely held business entities. He is keenly aware of the unique challenges that accompany the operation and management of a family owned business.

David has instructed and taught a variety of courses in business and economics to owners of farms, ranches and commercial businesses at several colleges and universities including New Mexico State University, Idaho State University and College of Southern Idaho. Most recently he instructed in the AgriBusiness Management Program at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon.  Prior to teaching at Chemeketa Community College David spent ten years consulting with and advising commercial and agricultural clients.

David was raised on a family dairy farm in southern Idaho and worked alongside his parents and siblings in the rigorous daily operation and management of the farm. After college he, along with one of his brothers,  joined their parents on the farm full time. They quickly reorganized the farming structure and within a couple of years increased the farm’s productivity and efficiency to support three families. After a heartfelt decision process, David decided to leave the farm and pursue other goals and objectives.

David has a passion for working with entrepreneurs and family owned businesses to help them succeed and realize their dreams. David loves to spend his free time with his wife and four children.
